Tips on Reading a Schedule
Our routes operate in two basic ways:
“Back and Forth” routes travel from one end to the other and back again, more or less along the same route. (Back-and-Forth schedules always start with a bold "To ..." to indicate direction of travel.) All of our link routes are "Back and Forth" routes.
“Loop” routes go around a cycle of stops and end up back at the same starting point after each loop. (Loop schedules start with the first stop of the looping cycle.) All in-town McMinnville and Newberg routes are "Loop" routes
“Back and Forth” schedules:
Find your direction. In the example above, your direction is either “To McMinnville” or “To Sherwood”.
Read down the list of stops until you see the one nearest your departure location, then read ACROSS that row to see the times you can catch your bus. You can read DOWN the column under your chosen departure time to find the time of the stop for your destination. In the example, we’re traveling from Newberg Nap’s Thriftway at 7:30am to get to McMinnville Courthouse at 8:00am.
“Loop” schedules:
Read down the list of stops until you see the one nearest your departure location, then read ACROSS that row to see the times you can catch your bus. You can read DOWN the column under your chosen departure time to find the time of the stop for your destination. IF YOU GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THE LOOP before you find your destination stop, go to the top of the next column and read down the times until you find your final stop. In the example, we’re traveling from McMinnville’s hospital at 7:34am to Ford Street at 7:52am. |
